On Tuesday, September 17, in the heart of Los Angeles, D’USSE Cognac hosted a Dinner Series with D’USSE Cognac’s Cellar Master, Michel Casavecchia and Global Brand Ambassador, Sullivan Doh. The exclusive dinner featured high profile tastemakers in the world of culinary, mixology and entertainment. Special guests enjoyed a curated two-course D’USSE-paired dining menu. Featured pairings included Yellowtail Sashimi, Kale & Apple Salad with a Chile Relleno Empanadas and Frozen D’USSE VSOP Cognac. The second course included Over-Braised Chicken Meatballs, Grilled Salmon, Filet Mignon with the D’USSE Sidecar Cocktail (D’USSE VSOP Cognac, triple sec, lemon juice, part sugar)
Cellar Master Michel Casavecchia and Global Brand Ambassador, Sullivan Doh, shared the history and heritage of one of the oldest cognac houses in France. They discussed the distinction between VS, VSOP & XO which refers to the quality of the cognac in relation with how long each eaux-de-vie used, has been aged in oak barrels.” VS” means “Very Special” and aged at least 2 years old) while “VSOP” signifies “Very Superior Old Pale” which represents eaux-de-vie aged at least 4 years old. “XO” has the highest distinction, which is aged at least 6 years old.
